About

A promise to implement solutions that ends poverty by putting the well-being of women and children at the center of the solution.

How We Work

Ima by design focuses on bringing support to women in sub-Sahara Africa. We strongly believe that the uplifting of women will lead to the uplifting of the entire society.

Ima means “love” in Ibibio. Ima works to empower women in Africa through education and business training. Currently serving in Ghana and Nigeria, Ima By Design aims to break the scourge of poverty for women and their families.

We raise funds through donations and fundraiser events. We also offer sponsorship opportunities during the holidays, where you can opt to sponsor a family by providing them with the essentials required to have a joyful holiday celebration.

We directly and entirely use the funds to provide groceries and other day-to-day necessities to women and their families.

The Person Behind Ima

Ima by Design is the brain child of Ekaette Udosenata-Harruna. Realizing the importance of women empowerment, Ekaette decided to help communities below poverty. Realizing that helping women and children is the first step in uplifting communities and bringing societies above poverty, Ekaette started Ima by Design.

A realtor by profession, Ekaette uses her comprehensive professional and social network to enhance her cause and spread the word. A portion of all revenue from Homes by Ekaettegoes to support this foundation.

Originally hailing from Nigeria, Ekaette now lives in Salem, Oregon, with her husband and two children.

When she’s not showing homes or working on Ima, Ekaette enjoys time reading and being outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.
